 The VMIVME-7750 bringsthe Intel Pentium III processor to VMEbus, offering processorspeeds up to 1.26 GHz. The Pentium III processor has 32-bitaddressing and a 64-bit data bus. Its superscalar architectureallows three instructions to be executed per clock cycle. Adynamic branch prediction unit, separate instruction and datacaches, and MMX™ technology also increase the processor’sperformance. The Pentium III processor also provides256 Kbyte (1.26 GHz has 512 Kbyte) of advanced transfercache (on-die, full speed level 2 cache) using dualindependent bus architecture for high bandwidth andperformance. This L2 cache operates at the same clockfrequency as the processor, thus improving performance.
