The IC698CPE040 CPU is designed to be used in an RX7i PACSystem PLC or programmable logic controller. The load requirements of the IC698CPE040 CPU are 6.8 Amps at 5 Volts DC and 0.003 Amps at both 12 Volts DC and -12 Volts DC.

The specifications of the GE Fanuc RX7i PACSystem IC698CPE040 CPU include 64 MB of user memory and a rated processor speed of 1800 megahertz. This CPU is a Pentium-M CPU. It includes 3 serial ports that are all independent and isolated and that can all be accessed from the connectors on the front of the CPU. Two of these independent ports can be used either for making firmware upgrades to the CPU or for creating a serial interface with external devices. The third port is the station management port for the Ethernet interface. The first firmware port on the IC698CPE040 CPU is an RS-232-compatible port with an indicator light that gives indications about the activity of this port. The second firmware port is RS-485-compatible and it needs shielded cables for its connections. The third port is RS-232-compatible like the first firmware port.
